Zalman Trimon 3D Monitor

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Do you want to bring 3D display technology to your home, but you don’t quite feel like employing one of those giant headsets? The Zalman Trimon LCD monitor is an excellent solution to your problem!

The Trimon uses circular polarisation technology to bring 3D display to the desktop. This means that you will get to wear ultra stylish glasses while enjoying the 3D experience. :) Circular polarisation is also used in RealD cinemas (see also the RealD Wikipedia page), which means that the RealD Cinema Eyewear works with this monitor.

The Trimon monitor can of course also operate in a 2D mode. Being a 22″ wide screen monitor with a native resolution of 1680 x 1050, it is most definitely welcome on my desk for general use. :)

Once you have experienced gaming in 3D, you will never want to go back! Do keep in mind that you will need a reasonably good graphics card to render at twice the normal frame rate at the monitor’s native resolution. But it is worth every cent!
